Gonzo

Gonzo, formally known as The Great Gonzo or Gonzo the Great, is the occupant adrenaline junkie execution artiste on The Muppet Show. He is an odd looking, unclassified animal with blue hide, bug eyes, and a since a long time ago abnormal nose. He takes pride in his uniqueness and revels in everything that he does no make a difference how excruciating or stupid it might be.

The thought of Gonzo, as a character who performs shocking acts yet thinks of them as creative, was concocted by Jerry Juhl. As Dave Goelz reviewed, the character may have been overlooked were it not for Jack Burns, the show's unique head author, who amid an early gathering recommended Gonzo perform these insane demonstrations like consuming a tire to 'Flight of the Bumblebee! Along these lines, in the show's first scene, Gonzo did precisely that, and the character developed from that point. Blazes likewise begat the character's name.

Research on campus

Students have many options when considering undergraduate research on Gonzaga's campus.  For the most up to date information on program deadlines, faculty research projects and other general information on research opportunities available to Gonzaga students, visit Undergraduate Research.

Most faculty members in the Biology Department maintain active research programs supported by the Gonzaga Research Science Program (GSRP), Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust, the National Science Foundation, or other funding organizations.  Student participation in these programs can be both during the summer and during the academic year.  Gonzaga's research program provides stipends for 10 - 12 weeks of full time work during the summer, and up to two semesters of support during the academic year.  In some cases, research may also be done for credit, or for pay from a particular faculty member's outside funding.  In addition, students involved in research are expected to present their research at regional or national scientific meetings, such as the annual Murdock College Science Research Program Conference, or another conference of interest.  Travel grants are available to assist students in traveling to conferences.
